Africa is a people and continent with a vibe and warmth unparalleled on this earth! This is where I grew up and I wanted to convey the colour, people and life of Africa in this acoustic folk style song. Enjoy!

The Sun sets behind the Akasia trees.
Pretoria is settling down in the afternoon breeze.
The smoke rises up, from the Vanderbijl fires.
It’s cold in the evenings here. But it’s warm in our hearts.

Ohhhh Africa, it’s my home. (iKhaya, Dis ons plek ja)
It’s where I’m based, (nyumbani makao)
It’s where I’ve grown.(akuluakulu…Africa) (or kunyumba Af-ri-ca)
It’s the soil that I’m standing on.
It’s the faces and places I’ve known,
all along.

The Kenyans are making some Kenyan coffee
with warm milk and sugar Oh, that’s the way it should be.
Malawi it has its own story. The folk tales are travelling across
the whole country.

In Cameroon they dance under the moon
And laughter is heard from the friends in that candle lit room.
